//Ok, I found the problem. We were using a custom world (made with Dragon) that looked like Trammell. When I copied the actual Trammell and tried the //operations it worked fine. Seems to just be user error. Sorry for wasting your time.
Turns out I was wrong even with the original Trammell if I delete all the statics off the map I have problems. If I create one big large scale box around the entire map it gives me the same "Error processing buffer of client" on the server. I do have full write permissions and no other processes are accessing the files.
