Support / Re: Connecting Problem
January 10, 2010, 05:18:07 AM
A friend of mine gets the same error.

Everything worked out just fine. Until I got a new comp and Windows 7 along with it!

I still use the same firewall, I still allow cedserver to do ANYTHING but it just won't work.
It worked ONCE... and I have NO idea why.

I'm not behind a router, proxy or whatever... It's just my firewall (Win7 fw is deactivated).

Does anybody know if Windows 7 is blocking such connections? It's the only thing I can think of.
My firewall grants all the needed rights, I don't have to open up a port since I'm not behind a
router... It just won't work. I've tried to delete cedserver from my firewall program list and
allowed the connections again, but no result. (Well there was a result. A negative one)

Maybe it has something to do that I'm using the x64 version. I have no idea...

Someone has a hint?

"Are you sure it's plugged in?!"

-_- I did in fact use 0.4.1 and I totally thought it would have been a newer version.
After updating the black glove cursor is white again, thanks for the idiot-check! Seem like I needed it ;)

The highlight however is still not showing up.
The item is actually selected, I can put it in the random pool as well as use it with the drawing tool.
It is only a visual problem, but still annoying :]

It works if I use the 'Classic Windows' theme, which pretty much looks like Win98... But hey... that's not really gonna happen :D
Changing the native Windows 7 themes does not change it however.

Sure, it's not a big deal and more one 'for the record' ;)

Support / Issues with CentrED on Windows 7 x64

Hey there!

New computer, new OS, new problems...

Long story short: there's two little things that may or may not be problems with CentrED itself.

First: When I use the Select Tool, the items are indeed selected and shown on the item list, but the selected item is not highlighted. It's a little thing, but it's annoying. (When I click on an item in the list it IS highlighted tho)
It may, of course, be a problem with my theme or configuration of Windows itself... I don't know.

Second: the mouse cursor of all other tools is pitch black. Instead of the white glove pointing it's it's black twin brother. Not too bad... but when you work with filters and a black background you can't see where you're pointing at :D

However that too may be a problem with my own config of the OS.
Either way, maybe somebody knows a way to work around those little, but annoying 'bugs'?

heh! The locations.dat ... Never guessed that!

Thanks a lot, it worked perfectly. And I didn't have any saved locations whatsoever.

(Think abour a new error-message... 'Your locations.dat is fucked up! Delete that piece o' crap' ;))

Hey there!

My first post in this board and I already have a question... You get that a lot I reckon! ;)

For a while I can't use the CentrED Client. The server works just fine, a friend of mine can use it without any problems.
But whenever I try to login (Either by directly connecting on the localhost or over the internet to my IP) I get this error:

When I click 'OK' nothing happens. My 'login' is displayed in the server log and also active users on the server get the
message that I've logged in. But the client's just trying to initialize and nothing happens.

It worked just fine for weeks and months, but now it's just totally screwed up.
Of course I tried reinstalling CentrED, trying different UO directories and filesets, but nothing worked.
I also googled and searched this board for this error message but I didn't find anything.

Some other infos on my system:
I'm running Ultima Online AOS on a Win XP SP2 system and as I said it worked just great until Mr. Errormessage kicked
me virtually in the balls.

I'm lookin' forward to your replies!
Thanks,
Vouk
