Ok, the versions look good.
If you edit map0, the files should be "map0.mul", "staidx0.mul" and "statics0.mul". All these files have to be the same on your RunUO Server and every UO Game Client (meaning: all your players [and yourself ofcourse] need these files).

Did you also update the map files on the client? Just updating them server side is not enough.
Also (just in case): which client version do you use?

Did you replace your client map files as well? Only updating them on the server won't be enough (though it's necessary too, they have to be in sync).

Wow, thanks for that heads-up. It's really great to see, that the tool is in use by so many people :)
But yes, this forum got a bit quiet. Probably also, because I didn't work on CentrED for some time now.

Anyway, thanks for your kind words and all your efforts :)

Sounds like you did everything right. Maybe it's a firewall issue?

Did you give the players your new map files? Otherwise they probably still see "black".

There are two downloads - the CentrED Client, and the CentrED Server (cedserver). That's also the server you need to use. Some remarks about its usage can be found in the manual, the wiki and here in the forums.

That sounds like you added the map files to your UO clients, but not your UO server (RunUO, Sphere or whatever you use).

Announcenments / New Forum Software
October 20, 2010, 12:00:49 AM
Since the old forum software (phpBB) kept causing trouble, I switched to SMF now. I migrated all accounts and posts as well as the forum structure. Short tests seem to indicate that all went well, but if anyone experiences any trouble, please contact me.

Does the filesize match with the one on the download page? Which programs have you tried to extract it with?

The map I use is pre-ML too. You can work with maps of any size, that's why you can (and have to) specify the size manually.
But the error you got - unable to open file - most likely indicates, that the file is locked by another application (the UO Client, RunUO, whatever), or is simply not found (wrong path for example).

The line above says it all ;)
Make sure you entered the correct size for the map you are using. You can find several default maps in the wiki.

If you specify the map file just as "map0.mul", it means that cedserver will look for that file in the working directory, not in the directory where cedserver.exe is. If you are in "H:do budowania" while executing cedserver.exe, it is your working directory too so it will find the files. However according to your screenshot, you are/were in "C:Documents and Settingsjoszi" while executing cedserver.exe, which makes that one your working directory.

So, either you change the working directory (see above) or the path to the map files (for example where cedserver asks you "map [map0.mul]:" you wouldn't simply press enter, but write the full path to the file: "H:do budowaniamap0.mul").

You start cedserver from a different directory than the files are in.
Either start cedserver in the directory where the map files are located:
H:
cd "do budowania"
cedserver.exe

or provide absolute paths to these files in the config: "h:do budowaniamap0.mul" instead of "map0.mul" etc.
