Title: read access to mul-files while server is running
Post by: Goron on January 18, 2010, 10:21:15 PM
I wonder why I can't read access the mul files used by the CentrED-server while the server is running. Is there a particular reason behind this? If at least read access to the mul's would be possible while CentrED server is running, then it would be far easier to distribute them or make backups without having to shut CentrED down every time.

On *nix this is already possible. I can probably allow it on Windows platforms too, but it's a risk either way. Because if you happen to copy the files while the server writes them, you end up with corrupted data. So it's better to stop the server to perform any action on the data files.
