Title: Artwork from Verdata.mul
Post by: Sitalk on January 11, 2009, 03:26:50 AM
Hi! I've discovered in this very moment CentrED and I found it awesome!
I'm not sure if this was already discussed and for this reason I am not posting in the feature requests:
does CentrED will support ( or supports already ) taking custom artworks from verdata.mul for those who doesn't overwrite art.mul?

As far as I know the verdata.mul is not used in CentrED - works only with art.mul

It's an open source project though, so I guess if you have some spare time and skills you could add that to the features.

Good luck.

From my point of view it is not desired having verdata.mul support, since the UO client itself dropped that a long time ago. There is no real need for a verdata.mul on clientside anyway so it would be better to avoid it completely.

Well I understand your point of view... anyway the support for legacy stuff it's a common practice in many environments and I find it quite suitable in the UO modding scene where discontinued software it's often used... in this case, considering the fact many designers find MUL Builder (<- exports verdata only) still today the best app for managing extensive and constant artwork addition, the possibility to use centrED before the final injection to the muls it's one less passage to the work flow before the final patch... verdata it's not supported by the new clients but it still used during the making of shards...

Okay n'uff said, ROFL

Verdata.mul ONLY works with older clients. It is not supported in the Mondains Legacy, Samurai Edition, Gold Edition (basically any edition spanning the last 4 years). Therefore, why even discuss it? It is kind of counterproductive. Its been replaced with the Anim5.mul which now contains a lot of newer animations.  :ugeek:

A word on MulBuilder, I add a lot of artwork to my client files and to be honest I prefer MulPatcher  :P

Aye!

Though I think UOFiddler will - n the near future - replace mulpatcher.
