Feature Requests / zoom for maps
January 26, 2010, 11:58:45 PM
I think a zoom in the overview map and in the map for large scale commands would be useful.

You may be knowing this .. it's a pain in the ass to create statics if you are not exclusively working with CentrED.

Everytime you want to extract items from your live server (using sphere) and make them static you have to rebuild this item by item. Or, if you have multiple areas your team is working on, but you want to release a patch once you are done with one area and don't want to wait until all other areas are finished too.

At the moment I need a couple of tools to do this job:
- a Perl script to extract items flagged as static from a worldsave to a new worldsave
- a Perl script to take a statics.mul, extract all items and write them in a new worldsave (for further editing etc.)
- all worldsaves later will be merged by a combination of Perl scripts and Dragon to a new statics.mul

To get to the point: it would be great if CentrED could be enhanced so it directly export/import all statics from/to statics.mul to sphere's worldsave format and vice versa.

Later this could be enhanced to load multiple statics/worldsaves and merge them to one - or extract only a particular area.

I wonder why I can't read access the mul files used by the CentrED-server while the server is running. Is there a particular reason behind this? If at least read access to the mul's would be possible while CentrED server is running, then it would be far easier to distribute them or make backups without having to shut CentrED down every time.

Bugs / Auth-Error window don't disappear
January 18, 2010, 09:14:46 PM
After an Auth Error I get a messagebox with the error "The password you specified is incorrect" and if I hit the OK-button, I stuck on another "Please wait ..."-messagebox saying "Authenticating". I have to kill the CentrED process with the taskmanager and restart the program.

Centred 0.6.1 Client on Windows XP SP3

Feature Requests / serverside location bookmarks
January 08, 2010, 12:44:49 AM
it would be nice if location bookmarks can be saved by the server and shared between users
